At short notice on Haiti an advanced earthquake early warning system was installed to capture aftershocks

The companies sectyelectronics GmbH and SiRcom, producer of high capacity sirens, have delivered  a complete advanced earthquake early warning system to Haiti. This project was organized and conducted by Malteser International in whose building the system was also installed.

AIR BERLIN has free of charge arranged the short-term transport of all the necessary material as well as the required staff. For this, again many thanks to all involved parties. This project could be realized only by the assistance to all parties so fast. The systems comprises two earthquake detectors and an electronical high capacity siren, which warns the human population within a radius of 1.5 km. The earthquake system detects and analyzes oncoming earthquakes with regard to theirlocal Intensity and with excess of preset limit values the system releases an earthquake alarm.
